A Farewell to the Old Self: Autumn Equinox, Eclipse Season, and Pluto Changing Signs
With the dying crops, a goodbye to the major part of yourself that once served but is withered away. What doesn't seem like a big deal, is actually the final chapter and it's time to publish.
This particular seasonal change is one of the greatest, and I’d say, most drastic. From hot days to noticeably cooler nights. The winter season is coming and what you cultivated over the summer to bring with you through winter is intimate and etheric in season of fall.
Running a business and raising an infant is comparable to what I imagine would be loving and raising two children. The heat of summer had me in the heat of grasping the responsibilities for both—and I’m getting used to it.
With that, I am witnessing an energy in my clients, in the collective of letting go of an old identity for the rise of the well nourished ones.
The Autumnal Equinox
The Fall Equinox for the Northern Hemisphere announces itself on Sunday, September 22nd at 6:43am MT.
Equal day, equal night.
It is the ecological marker for the slowing harvest of crops and a farewell celebration in gratitude for the nourished abundance that summer light provides to the relationship between the earth and it’s beings. Sunlight throughout the long summer hours and the warm nights provides life to activate cellular function in plants and drive human social interactions and interpersonal exchanges. As we engage with the land, the people, and the celestial body, we reflect on our own inner harvest and the nourishment or loss that will culminate upon the Autumnal Equinox—where it all shifts into a more inward, quiet, and selective inventory.
The Fall Equinox is the end and in the same token, a new beginning. It is a time of celebration, recognition, and respect for all the earth provides. It is also Earth’s invitation to allow rest from the growth and nourishment of the harvest. It is the invitation to release the challenge in turn for the gain. This is a moment of gratitude for being held on this planet and in these bodies, to support the evolution of all life-force and spirit so that we may turn to grow again.
Client Wave In the Reiki Studio—The Eclipses
In my studio through Reiki and Energy Healing sessions this week, there has been a consistent theme with each and every client. A theme of letting go. Letting go of great old parts of identity.
On Tuesday September 17th there was a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Pisces at the North Node (future). Full moons bring light into darkness, and eclipses tend to block that illumination. Often times, in astrology, metaphorically, these celestial interactions “eclipse” things out of (or into) our lives. Practicing mindfulness and being conscientious of what is leaving or coming is the art of evolving with the ecology of being a human on this planet. The equinox denotes “eclipse season”, where the alignment of the earth, sun, and moon bring about the shifting aspects of the spirit of light and dark.
There have been major moments on my client’s personal journeys in the evolution of their alignment with what feels best to their true self now. Whether they are truly aware of it or not, it was evident to me as the practitioner that major energies around old identities were leaving their bodies, minds, and spirits. Old patterns that were once so close and intimate to them are shifting into something more clean and clear.
I’m in such gratitude, a true sense of honor, to be hosting and serving these massive shifts within such incredible and powerful individuals. They’re gearing up for the alignment that not only best serves themselves, but in service to the collective.
It’s funny how this change is not high at the surface of consciousness. Of course it’s in Pisces, which rules the 11th house, where we have the dreams from the depth of our consciousness that are revealed to us to become overtly conscious. These eclipses and the shift of season is that of making the unconscious, more conscious. So it takes a moment of reflection and inventory of your fruits and dying crops.
I had my own moment of reflection—if I was seeing this change in my clients, was there a change for me, too?
When I ask, does my shift feel big? Well, when I give it permission to take up space and be big, it does feel big. When I engage in the respect for the process, it reveals itself.
I recognize the shift for myself, that in being a new mother, I have gained so much strength in my intuition, pride for who I am, how I nurture, what I give, the depth to which I give, and my worthiness in all of that. This is my summer harvest that will fuel what I continue to value moving forward.
I collect the summer harvest and in the same token, the old part of me must be released. It is the seeds and stems that grew in the sunlight to create this Maiden crop, which must die back and go. It is no longer their time to accumulate light. As they die back, they decompose, break down, and still they provide traces of nutrients to the soil. The fertility of this soil in which I will plant once again come spring is formulated by the power and energy I accumulate from the consumption of my summer harvest through the winter season.
Your harvest is meant to carry you in times of darkness.
What you learn and what you cultivate is meant to nourish you in order to bring new life. That new life will be challenged by new interactions or tests for integration but weathering storms is a part of the cyclical nature of life force.
So reap and sow well, my friend, and have gratitude for the process.
What’s coming—Pluto’s Next Move, Final Witness
In recognition of my own change and evolution of power through the mirror of my client sessions and motherhood, I know the way I show up is about to change. I also work with impactful individuals on a one to one level and their energy is palpable in the supportive shifts they provide among the quickly changing landscape of our current society.
Pluto takes 248 years to orbit around the sun and spends 11-30 years in single astrological sign. This tiny planet rules big transformation and is making it’s last tour in Capricorn this fall until it shifts back into Aquarius to stay for the remainder of our life time (if you don’t plan to go immortally robotic). Capricorn is quite rigid and structured where once the individual benefits, then community can benefit. While Aquarius is about the flow of humanity and evolution where once community benefits, all individuals can benefit.
I’m personally shifting from Pluto Capricorn energy to Pluto Aquarius. l’ll be using the New Moon Solar Eclipse on October 2nd to help shift this change into motion, creating this new energy from the release of the old. I’ve waited a long time to feel like I could emerge in my work, my life’s purpose of service. Not waited, but did a lot of hard inner work—I’ve addressed myself in order to address my community. As a mother, I address and nurture my family which in turn nurtures me, and I’m creeping up on how I can serve community, for the benefit of all.
It’s evident in my role, and I’m sure many practitioners would say, that clients are a reflection of the practitioner. A client’s healing is hand in hand with my own healing. I’ve cried sitting across from some clients, knowing that we’re connected on the level of our life’s missions to bring science, spirituality, and human health together. I’ve had remarkable synchronicities, that have brought my passion together with other highly evolved passions. Proof that there’s an energy brewing for a greater good.
Now is the final witness to what once was. It’s time to release the shame, the unworthiness, the insecurity and every relationship to others or self that has fostered that crop. It’s time to enjoy the harvest of your labor, let it nurture you and carry you into the next season that allows you to plant your seeds for your Aquarian future.

What shifts revealed themselves or began working for me this summer?
What is aligning for me in my life’s purpose? What relationships feel supportive to that?
What is falling away that I can celebrate because it once served me and now it’s release is also serving me into greater alignment?
